Dental fees and payment plans
Three ways of paying for dental care here, and they suit different people. This page is just the signpost. Pick the one that fits and the numbers are all on the other side.
Whichever route you take, you get the cost in writing before any work starts. That includes being told when the cheaper option is the sensible one.
Three routes
Which one suits you
You are not locked into any of them. Plenty of people here are NHS patients who go private for one particular thing.
On the NHS
From £27.90
One band charge covers a whole course of treatment, however many appointments it takes. There are three bands, and a lot of people pay nothing at all.
Worth checking first if you are pregnant, under 18, or on certain benefits, because then it is free.
Privately, per visit
From £75
You pay for what you have, when you have it. The full list is published, so you can look your treatment up before you ring rather than after.
Usually the cheaper route if you have healthy teeth and come twice a year for a check and a clean.
Denplan
From £20.44 a month
Your routine private care turned into a monthly payment. Your own figure comes from an assessment, because it is based on the state of your mouth rather than a standard package.
Tends to work out better if you need regular work, or you would rather not face an unexpected bill.
Not sure which to pick?
Ring and describe your situation. Reception deal with this all day and will tell you straight which route makes sense, including when that is the NHS rather than us charging you more.
